    Interesting bit:

If the Northstar browser is included in Debian Linux, I will do my utmost to make the browser successful and ensure it works well in Debian, and I will make sure that the Debian project and Debian contributors like you, and the four of you in particular, will be rewarded.

He did not elaborate on the nature of the promised reward, but did mention that he had applied to the NLnet Restack fund

I wonder if anyone knows the right people to contact at the fund to bring this to their attention? At the very least, it shows this guy shouldn’t be trusted with their money.

The license is just… ??? What?? So the project is either non-free, John Free Software (GPL) or MIT in a decade?

Don’t let that shit on. Wow. The dude is in AI psychosis to believe that 250k lines of C are “easily auditable”. Absolute joker.

That’s an insane transaction. The guy vibe coding the browser clearly has no idea what he’s doing…

Imagine how much other uneccesary work like this is being added on to FOSS project workloads…

We can still fix this one, especially now that hate for big tech is as widespread (and bipartisan) as ever. There are good and legal arguments to break up Google, Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, Apple (and more), and there’s a new (young!!) congress with populist and even some democratic socialist lawmakers.

Ofc it’s probably not very high on the list of priorities right now, but we just gotta keep the idea alive while everyone is still pissed at big tech.

Yeah right? Most ethical would be AGPLv3 but that would still be incorrect. But the most copyleft open source license shouldnt break any whose code was stolen, apart from attribution
