No, Bookwyrm doesn’t have an API yet, so you can’t really build apps for it.
I think a PWA is your best bet.
The UI is pretty poor. But I don’t think anyone else has one yet. Stock for us!
Even the Android app is just a webview wrapper, it is super slow and buggy…

At the moment I am affected by this bug, where the status bar hides functionality. This means I can’t hit “Start to read” etc. when in vertical mode. When I change to landscape, the site reloads and I need to start from the beginning. It is fixed by now, but it hasn’t been released on F-Droid yet, and it is 5 months old.
In general it is much slower than the web frontend.
