It stays a normal fediverse app. Your posts can reach Mastodon, PixelFed, Misskey and the rest, and posts from those servers reach you too.

How neat! I just signed up, not really expecting anyone to be nearby just yet. Turns out there’s one other user in my entire state, and we chose the same city. What are the odds?
