i dont even bother commenting on niche, unless i know the sub isnt well moderated or the filters dont care about your comment. many subs currently are on very high, so even if you get a comment removed your account will be flagged but not banned, apparently they keep track of each comment that gets removed and may consider the account spamming.

AFAIK, voting counts as active.
For this reason if I go on Reddit for a niche item that’s not here yet, I only lurk, no voting, commenting, nada.
Thankfully, I’m having to do that less and less.
