Pretty good write-up calling out European politicians in particular for calling for increased tech sovereignty in Europe, but not putting their money where their moth is by actually using the European alternative that already exists.

I’m not sure the word Mastodating will catch on. I’m not sure I want it to either.

Nokia’s leadership style grew increasingly more and more authoritarian. And disconnected from the user experience, or even dev experience. I don’t think there’s really something like that happening in EU nor Fediverse.

I wrote Nokia because they were the sole european mobile constructor and Microsoft bought them.

So we lost a lot and EU did nothing to stop that deal.

Stopping that deal would have made the world a lot better place, actually! N9 was awesome, and during the first half a year of Windows Phone based Nokia phones, N9 sold more than all of those combined. Even though N9 was never advertised anywhere at all!

It was simply a killer product that people wanted to use so much that no advertising was necessary.

And i tested Meego, it was a pretty good OS, the phone was very beautiful.

We only need time and a more bold approach to defend our economy.
