Interesting to make this move now when theres a ton of better alternatives. More than likely they saw a big decline in CE adoption and have decided to just do the “enshitify vendor lock in” playbook for their corporate customers.

What services do you prefer? Ive no dog in the fight because I just use the CLI but im curious what’s out there
I moved to Dockhand, which is more Compose-centric, easier to use (a log viewer that works, imagine that!) and looks nicer (may feel too information-dense by comparison). It’s evolving very quickly, obviously with help of AI, but with none of the weird regressions and haphazard product pacing, which makes me think a firm human hand is at the helm.
My recent search for an alternative suggests arcane is the new hotness. Am planning to migrate but haven’t yet done so, so I don’t have a first hand account for you.
I’m currently migrating to arcane at the moment, but got sidetracked by a 2 second mention of authentik in a video talking about the pros of arcane. on the plus I now have sso at home
Would ypu mind elaborating on your migration process ?
Depends on config. I only started after this announcement but I like to use persistent volumes, so it was a case of moving my stack over to a project. Stopping it and deleting in portainer and starting it in arcane. done 4 servers in 2 days. YMMV but was less impactful than I thought and loads of stuff that was locked behind a paywall is suddenly fine.

I like Komodo, it’s reliable and it has a lot of nice features. I previously used DockGE
I’ve also heard people use Arcane but I didn’t give that a fair try before settling on Komodo so I can’t judge
