The fediverse contains a few different site frameworks that all communicate with each other based on the basic rules and formats. Lemmy, Piefed, Kbin/Mbin, etc.

I’ll link a megathread which has all the details and links to citations, but basically the users who maintain and develop Lemmy, and often ship a banner alongside updates begging for funding, and also host the home page which lists their hand picked instances, they are pro-Russian invasion of Ukraine, Pro-North Korea, Anti-LGBT, and they even heavily promote Donald Trump at times while consistently shaming his opposition. They go by Dessalines and Nutonik among others.

    Documentation of Lemmy.ml’s Extremism [Megathread]

P.S. I could be mistaken but I think the instance you’re on is still federated with Hexbear? Those are exactly the kind of Tankies we’re talking about.

when you say “Lemmy is run by pro-fascist tools of Russia and the CCP.” Do you mean specifically Lemmy.ml or any part of the fediverse with the word “lemmy” in it?

I didn’t ask the person that created my instance if they are a pro fascist tool. I didn’t get the impression that they are but I could ask.

Lemmy, including all of the instances, is developed by the owners of ML, and they all fund them unless the instance owners painstakingly remove every donation link and banner every update and I am unaware of any such instances or code forks.
