Chimaira used to play a mix between groove metal and metalcore, with heavy thrash influence, having come into some popularity around the early 2000’s. Upon revisiting old stuff again, I had nearly forgotten this album’s existence, of which I was introduced to at a young age.

This album has some great songs if you’re into this style of metalcore - chunky, aggressive guitar tones with shit loads of bass from the drums and 4-string contributing to a big sound plus a use of keyboards for horror-like atmospheric samples. Hard to describe the extra sounds they put in there lol. My biggest complaint this band is the voice, it can be very grating if you listen to more than one song at a time. Which is why I’m offering up only this one track right here!

Save Ourselves is a fantastic example of post-thrash and faster groove metal with some great riffs and a wonderful extended solo with the rhythms supporting it. Hope you guys don’t hate on it too much xD.
