I have to admit, I’m really grateful for AI helping me get to speed with old side projects I shelved years ago.

It’s so nice that I can pick up an X year old project, don’t need to fight through the inertia of relearning a framework from scratch using outdated documentation. I can just start immediately coding. I’ve picked up and finished a handful of these shelved projects and it’s been good for my sense of self worth and esteem and my life has been better for it.

I still fear AI taking my job, but I do think it’s a useful piece of tech.

(To quote an older comment:) The Luddites didn’t smash all those machines because they were afraid of them. They were more than happy to use the fancy new tools to make them more efficient. They just didn’t want to sacrifice their standard of living to do it.

I prefer using a kanban board for my projects. I have a Planka instance that catalogs and tracks everything for me. If I get bored, I just hop onto Planka and see what I have.

I think “AI” would be great for generating comments for code snippets.

I use org-roam, and then export my whole todo list onto various kindles around the home so that I always roughly know what I need to be doing

I’ve had to restart a sourdough starter a few times this year because I forgot it was in the fridge and I got busy. At least the new starter is way more active than my original but I hate wasting things.

NGL I’m currently super busy with the life main quest line. I promise I’ll be back to my 25000 side projects whenever that’s done!

I’m in this picture and I don’t like it.

I think i have about 6 side projects I have “on hold” because something more new came up and I never got back to them. I even had a full on chat site that had a functional design, even had a domain for it, then I got bored and moved onto something else.

The go one asked the php – why the long identifiers?

The c one had undefined behavior and just erased the entire disk.
