Blackened heavy metal, from Immortal’s own Abbath! This band/album/song showcases the slower and more melodic talents these Norwegian musicians have in the traditional sense. And while this is still touched by black metal, it’s very much more accessible by comparison.

On the question of “politics” of the band members, I thoroughly researched them and came to the conclusion that the bassist here (King) was in Gorgoroth at the same time as founder/guitarist Infernus and vocalist/lyricist Gaahl - both of which have said/done some sketchy shit. But that’s literally it. No connection to this release.
So, I’m just scratching my head lol don’t mind me.
