As someone who has been interested in retro, vintage, and antique technology since I was a preteen for me at least it’s just the simplicity of it all. An old light from say the 1950s breaks and it’s like 4 components max and there’s a pretty good chance it’s just something that needs to be tightened or cleaned, meanwhile a modern light breaks and it’s almost always a fucking board meaning I can’t fix it by just tightening a screw and fuck me if it has touch controls.

I will say I do like plenty of modern tech for example the FM transmitter in my truck or my computers but holy fuck I had to shop around just to find a fan that didn’t need WiFi and I still got one where it’s optional.

My biggest problem with this is that the shading doesn’t cover the road between the parking spaces. In my experience that just means during early or later in the day you may as well not have the shading, at least hang up some canvas shaders or something.

Honestly this is one of my signs for the collapse of the US economy. The other is collapse of goods being taken into Florida since that was an economically hard route to begin with. My last marker just before total collapse is the abandonment of trans continental trade outside of rail freight, possibly including the effective market collapse in the fly over states.

Same with Autism, I will hyperfixate Rome, the Soviet Union, and Nazi Germany and I will call out the similarities between them and the United States. Also steam has a massive library that PlayStation just doesn’t have, the first game in my steam library is Fallout: New Vegas which I got in 2012 meanwhile the oldest game in my steam library is Wasteland which I believe realized in 1988. That alone gives steam a massive advantage since you can’t really do that on console without some series modding.

Also before folks come at me I drive an 01 Toyota Tacoma which has gas mileage comparable to a particularly inefficient motorcycle. Its the best I can afford.
