I have not much to add, just that Scrivener is actually decent.

There are people out there who have mastered the Theremin and can absolutely play on point.
Also, not everything even needs to be perfect. Unpredictability, glitchiness, noise and not being pitch-perfect can be an aesthetic goal in itself.

Unfortunately, you can’t just put plants everywhere. CO2 conversion is also highly dependent on light levels, which sufficient light levels not being achievable everywhere.
Office buildings with a large number of people meeting rooms etc.) could also benefit from monitoring.
Heck, even at home, I have a room that quickly accumulates CO2, easily reaching 2000ppm with just a single person being inside, which makes spending prolonged time in said room a tiring affair.

I think so, too. It’s still a horrible idea though.

The real cringe is using passwords instead of keys to login.

Now I know.

Thanks, I knew the art, but never bothered to make a note of the artist.

I’m absolutely in the market for a new image viewer. One with a sensible gallery / (sub-) folder view.
I’ll try nomacs out today.

Alright, that one is on me half-assing my reading. I’m with you on effectiveness.

I’m with you on more ethical solutions being available, but efficient? In turns of total energy usage required to go from (often unethically acquired) training data to a manifestation of a prompt as an image, maybe.
But regarding the effort and efficiency when purely generating an image? I think not.
There is a person on Lemmy running GenAI models locally (on their own machines) using solar power, and honestly, that’s totally fine by me. I’m also fine with a DM generating some art for their next hombrew game they run with a couple of friends.
Acquisition of training data and the environmental impact of data centers (not only for AI usage) are still problems to be solved, though.

I don’t know what your previous setup was, but given that running resolved fixes your DNS issues, run:
ln -sf ../run/systemd/resolve/stub-resolv.conf /etc/resolv.conf
This will point programs that use /etc/resolved.conf during DNS resolution to the local DNS server provided by systemd-resolved.
Then, enable resolved so that it is started when you reboot:
systemctl enable systemd-resolved.service
Finally, start the service so that it is available immediately:
systemctl start systemd-resolved.service
You will want it run those with the required permissions, e. g. via sudo.

Have you considered creating a macro in any image editor that supports macros and assigning that to a button / keyboard shortcut?
gimp certainly has macros and scripting features. Maybe this will help: https://www.gimp.org/tutorials/Automate_Editing_in_GIMP/
You can still edit a mask / selection with the regular UI, then trigger the cut/merge process you desire based on that selection.
Pretty cool
