Some instances have different ways of making money. TILVids for example shares money from donations with the creators. Theres also support buttons that help creators out. As well as ads on some instances as themes. Most are just nonprofits trying to do good in the world.
Its not as popular for the same reason your on fediverse, the interface allows anyone without ads to see your videos. The insentive does not always need to be $$, it most cases, its community building.
A nap does sound good.
Take a look sometime at the top videos of !peertube@lemmy.world or https://piefed.social/f/fediversevideos to see some great videos! Creators all over the fediverse.
One of my favorite videos on fedi: https://videos.elenarossini.com/videos/watch/2909e4a0-6424-4a74-a936-d15812268a3c
I myself host a peertube instance and its pretty easy to use.
Chatgpt is wrong BTW. But yeah its been there for a long time.
Such a good idea!
Nice!! Woo hoo!
Interesting: Activityhub and bluesky integration out the door. Thats a first (I think?)
Yep they inherited it from Sun. JavaScript the name.
We will finally own JavaScript. Which is hilarious.
Back when my wife and I were at our apartment. we had just about every surface that faced a window filled with plants. It was great.
Thanks for your support! It was great having you for the time we had you.
Yep we now get fire season. Fun times.
I think in order for both to work towards a better fediverse, there needs to be a “true” sync. Not like the bridge Bluesky is maintaining, we need something to sync both ways. Even if its just a subset with just public posts to begin with.
I know a lot of fediverse software has their own API that extends their own functionality beyond the AP protocol, just to make things more complicated :). But it does help with say bookwyrm needs to know something specific from another bookwyrm instance.
Sounds like a good gig!
Same. Theres a lot of good stuff out there now.
I hope your right too lol.
As a dev the reason pdf is so strange is because it’s a compound format. It can be just images strung together. It can also be pure text with fonts, ect…etc …
If you open the file as a text file, you can see this. It’s many different formats in a trenchcoat.
I have no idea other than making a custom script in your favorite rss reader or somewhere other than the users posts. Maybe someone can chime in?
Honestly I devour the articles the day they come out then just push “read all”. But I understand it may not be a good option for everyone.
yunohost has a pretty extensive list of applications: https://apps.yunohost.org/catalog
Its nice for small to medium setups that dont have all the time.
