I can see all Nato countries jumping on the fedi right now.

It works well too :)

Thats nice to say. But no im not Elena, just a fan. She did a great job with her blog and other websites.

Ive been a dev for 20 ish years now. Im tired of doing unending infa buildouts. Ive been running yuno for about two years. Its just generic debian with lots of easy to use features. Backups work, user login works, and most apps are just scripts with big install buttons.

Using bare metal is good for performance. Bad for reproducability. Docker introduces another layer you have to work with and yet another dependency.
I use docker all the time at work. And yuno at home. They both have thier place.

!elena@aseachange.com Just FYI threw your link over here. Hope you dont mind!
Oh right…forgot. woops
I personally look at feeds like: https://piefed.social/feeds
when im looking at general topics. For example:

Makes it easy to say, go down a step and find ALL fediverse related communities.
I love piefeds default :)
And as much as I dont like parts of bluesky, they did the onboarding the correct way.
One of the benefits of our “own” system is like you said, we can build the tools as they come.
Reddit and other platforms, we were always beholden to what they gave us.
With the fedi, you want something better? Build it! Or support those who are doing so. Its much more productive than just complaining all the time.

Oh this is cool!
I wonder if we can combine the related fediverse services (like piefed, which is getting more and more traction lately), mbin/kbin, and others.
Because according to this graph I dont exist for example. Im not a “lemmy” user, but I sure interact with a lot of lemmy.
There is also a number of instances that are chosing not to give their numbers anymore either because of AI scrappers getting really aggressive, or because they just dont want to be seen by the different tracking software out there.

huh…i never knew! Yeah thats a deal breaker for me too. WTF.

I believe both systems already support this yes?
And on piefed, tags work like mastodon, so you get thebest of both worlds. We one big family (of protocols). We are not sticklers for rules as long as its in best faith.

Yeah nothing is loading

I always do ‘python3 -m venv venv’
Then activate. Then your usually good.

Oh django with activitypub sounds great.

Im seeing the same thing on piefed. Looks to be a snac implementation, which is very minimal.
Big old flash drive.
