hi i’m joelle, a nonbinary musician from WI, USA

here’s some of my music if you are curious: https://etherphon.bandcamp.com/
https://soundcloud.com/etherphon

the music there right now is a tad old, but it deals with my struggles/realizations about my sexuality and gender, thus some of it is very busy and noisy because I had a lot going on in my head at the time (still do but yeah) and this sort of wall of sounds music was soothing to me at the time. I am now working on some more ambient music as well as maybe some vocal pop music :) I have a lot on my plate at the moment though

  • I mean I get it, after years of having to look for artists to make thumbsnails or hire people on fiverr instead of taking the time to learn to do it yourself, it is not hard but people are busy sure. I’m sure it’s attractive to people to be able to type in a thing and get a semi professional good enough looking thing that looks basically how they want. I just don’t have to like it or want to see it because as someone who learned all that stuff I find it pretty appalling design wise

  • I would suggest trying to lower the sample rate to something like 44.1 or 48khz which is already CD/DAT quality, higher sample rates are good for recording and dedicated playback but just day to day it’s a bit overkill honestly, and unless you have high grade equipment (AD/DA converters, monitor speakers or headphones, etc.) it’s not really that noticeable, worth a shot anyways

Also in the docs it says that the default.clock.allowed-rates is not enabled by default anymore because of problems with kernels and bluetooth so you might want to remove the rate from those brackets

Note that this is not enabled by default for now because of various kernel and Bluetooth issues
