What kind of music it is definitely makes a difference for me. Sometimes if I need to focus really hard, I have to turn on something instrumental otherwise I’ll get distracted by the lyrics/singing along in my head.

I saw a video the other day of a doctor explaining early warning signs of dementia and they were basically all just symptoms of ADHD. Things like difficulty managing finances or completing chores lol. So idk whAt that means.
Pretty sure it’s an ADHD thing. I’m like that with people’s faces. For a long time I thought I had facial blindness but realized a couple of years ago, I’m just not generally paying attention to faces enough to record them into memory. When I actually learn what someone’s face looks like instead of their general shape/hair/clothes/accessories, I have no problem recognizing them in a variety of situations.
Not music, but I really like coffee shop noises if I’m struggling to focus up. Random barista sounds, indiscernible chatter, light but pleasant clinking of spoons and cups. There are YouTube & podcast channels that have like 8 hours solid.
