Well obviously. I was calling them out for the reason for the half-measure. They want to signal their values while not abandoning the larger shittier advertising market. I’ve never used Twitter/X because it’s always been an obvious cess pit but organizations can’t resist that place or Reddit, or so it seems.

They’re reducing and not leaving X because there’s fucking nobody on mastodon in comparison. Reach still matters and the fediverse is very hostile to normies

My only concern is that as more large corporations and governments begin to use it, it becomes a much larger target for attacks and malware. There was a point in time where Apple was far more secure than Windows but it was mostly because they had a tiny fraction of the market share and hackers didn’t want to bother with attacking it

It’s getting better, no question. I’m hopeful it will continue to get better.

No it’s just to run a single proprietary software for some old hardware at my job. It won’t even be connected to the Internet. After trying for a couple of hours I had it set up and working on Win 10 in about 20 mins including the windows install.
