Homelab@selfhosted.forum•Open Source cameras for home surveillance?English
8·2 months agofwiw I’ve used reolinks cameras and have been satisfied with them. I have them integrated with Home Assistant, just use a firewall rule to restrict them from reaching the Internet as I’m paranoid about that stuff. They’re not open source but they do function 100% offline without any issues.

They use the Realtek 838x and 839x and I saw on a blog post from someone they were able to get OpenWrt running on them but no PoE, no fan, no LEDs working at that time. I don’t see them on the compatible hardware list as of now so I imagine it’s just a case of there’s very few people looking at this. In a perfect world I’d love to get something like OpenWrt running so I don’t have to use a firewall rule to block them and just manage them in a more normal way.
