I’m fully prepared to take it down in a year or two because it turned into a filthy rain cloud. But until then it sure does give off some nice light and makes for an interesting piece to look at.

I wish more people had this attitude. So many people won’t start a project because it may not be perfect. I’m certainly guilty of it sometimes. But the world is so much better for having these creations, even if they may not last forever.

I’ve never had a download tagged as SuccessfulCrab that wasn’t malware. I don’t know enough about them to know if that’s their fault or the indexers’.

I have nothing productive to add, but I will say the same thing happens on my Windows 11 laptop from my work. And updates are forced by the management protocols, so every couple weeks I lose my screen until I restart. Classic Nvidia.

In my opinion this is the biggest shortcoming of the ActivityHub ecosystem. That’s not to say it should have been solved by now, since I don’t know how to decentralize authentication safely. And after using it for a while I’m not sure I want a single account.

But it is a challenge facing newcomers and those trying to recruit them. This group of services is already tough to explain sometimes, and telling them it all interconnects just muddies the waters when you have to explain that it’s not the way they expect.

I don’t understand what those two passages are supposed to represent that is happening now.

I thrift a lot of books for crafts as well. Most recently I made a tiny bookshelf and populated it with thumbprint-sized books. I made those by cutting up the yellowest books real tiny and then rebinding them. Anyway, Goodwill really is full of these books. A couple sets from me, even.

“I’m not handy” always makes me mad. People call me handy because I do things others hire professionals for. But I’m not handy either. I don’t enjoy doing these things, and I don’t magically have the knowledge to do it. I look up tutorials or videos of how to do it and get my hands bruised or bloody. You don’t need a character trait or label to accomplish these things, you just need to commit and accept that it won’t be fun.

This is my exact setup. The upgrade from the smart TV was night and day. Apps load instantly and Jellyfin works great. Most importantly the remote is easy to use and can control the TV.

I’ve always wondered what people mean when they say they want a freak. From my limited anecdotal experiences they mean, “someone who’s only into vanilla sex, but is very energetic about it.”

If I saw that in a repo I would 100% believe it. I’ve seen so many that are just as baffling.

This drives me crazy with software websites and GitHub repos. Sometimes they’ll give you a hint that involves other undefined things like, “This lets you use Floorp with Bibix.”
