I’m probably catastrophising. But if it is broken or “lost”, then hasn’t the library has basically traded the item for a fraction of the cost?

I wonder how well this would work in my neighborhood 😬 but it’s a good initiative. And since someone has figured it all out, and even studied the results, it’s literally a “no brainer”.

I think so, yes. Slovenia and Finland are relatively proactive countries that tackle issues. Finland “ended” homelessness, for just one example. And Slovenia has tackled many issues that Anglo nations are forever dithering over.

I am astounded at how slow governments are to deal with urgency: stochastic terrorism, foreign interference, climate emergency.
