I believe they publicly stated they removed .world from it to prevent centralization because everyone was going to a single instance, thus defeating the fediverse purpose. But this is all from memory and I might be wrong
For science
I checked the contact section and it uses the .ml support account so maybe he does

@dessalines@lemmy.ml for the love of god please fix the onboarding
Also go full Elon Mulk and artificially boost lemmy.sdf content they have a lot of good OC
Piefed seems to have its own share of issues, not using ActivityPub protocols which play nice with the rest of the Fediverse (Lemmy, Mastodon etc) for new features and instead prioritizing on their own platform and seeing the Fediverse as a secondary thing.
I thought lemmynsfw hid their content for unregistered users as well so not really

Fediverse@lemmy.world•PieFed 1.4 is released - emoji, federated stackoverflow and AI content filtersEnglish
16·28 days agoBecause there is no real need for Piefed to create their own activity type besides it being slightly easier for their devs to do everything exactly the way they want.
But this is very detrimental to the fediverse because it means that everyone would have to change their software to suit the needs of Piefed.
This could be warranted if there was no way to do it with existing protocols. But as the other user stated above there is no real need for the way they are doing it. It is very hacky and prevents the rest of the fediverse from viewing this Piefed specific content unless they implement this unnecessary message type.

11·2 months agoYes probably but ZHA worked fine with the Conbee stick and I do not feel like migrating. I like the simplicity of ZHA a lot, it is simple to add devices. With the deConz software it supported all the buttons too. I am sad that ZHA has such poor software support it should not be that difficult in my mind.

21·2 months agoI actually upgraded from a Conbee stick to the official home assistant one to support them… But the official home assistant one is significantly worse.
A few devices like buttons were discovered by the Conbee and worked perfectly fine, but the home assistant refuses to recognize their functionality.
Since I already migrated all my devices, I am not going back, but I would recommend anyone against purchasing the official home assistant sticks. Get the cheaper stuff instead.

21·3 months agoI have moved the opposite way. I am noticing so much propaganda on Wikipedia that I would rather avoid it.
For example, this page, which is clearly written by Zionist bots, but somehow has edit protection.
Zorin and Mint are frequently recommended foe Windows users. With Zorin having paid support for schools etcetera.
Zorin is a bit more commercial but it looks good and not much can go wrong.

DHH Is Way Worse Than I Thought
DHH: “London is no longer the city I was infatuated with in the late ’90s and early 2000s. Chiefly because it’s no longer full of native Brits. In 2000, more than sixty percent of the city were native Brits. By 2024, that had dropped to about a third. A statistic as evident as day when you walk the streets of London now.”
Author: It turns out that when DHH says “native Brits”, he’s specifically referring to white Brits. That’s why it’s “a statistic as clear as day when you walk the streets of London”: it’s his coy way of saying that too many of the 59% of Londoners born and raised in the UK are not white.
So if David means “white Brits”, why doesn’t he just say that? Why bother with the innuendo Because complaining that there aren’t enough white people sounds weird and racist! David bristles at that label, but there’s a reason he’s hiding behind euphemisms rather than just saying what he means. Most people don’t go around thinking “boy, all these Black and Asian people make this city so much worse.”

Understandable but something needs to be done to lower the barrier of entry of new users joining.
