A google forms alternative would be convenient. You could make an easy to fill out page that inouts to a spreadsheet. Put warranty reminders in your calander for a month before it expires.
No, but the drives are constantly being written to, so I’d rather have two in case one fails.
Ah I see with Frigate that makes sense. I’ll just have to backup the config since I don’t want to backup TB’s of footage.
I don’t really see an issue with reselling niche items. The people looking for them aren’t going to every thrift store weekly to find that exact item. They can conveniently go online and have it shipped to their door. It has caused goodwill to jack up prices and cherry pick all the good stuff for their own auction site.
I’ve bought and resold before as well as redold my old stuff on ebay but the margins can be thin unless you have a huge difference in price bought vs sold.
There’s a big difference between resellimg and scalping.
That is good. Unfortunately many Americans “just don’t want to mess with it” themselves. They could easily give it away directly or recycle it, but instead give stuff to phony charities like goodwill.
Unfortunately places like goodwill will jack up prices. eBay prices tend to go up as well. Other places not as much since they don’t usually do market research.
The guy from craigslist is not paying taxes, sorry for the convenience.
“Sensitive” people can be really toxic too. Some people just enjoy being outraged.
I took econ in college and got a 4.0. It’s bullshit.
It’s not a science, it’s a cult.
It’s derogatory and innacurate description, workers aren’t a commodity. Having a college degree doesn’t mean you’re a specialist. You don’t have to have a certification or degree to be skilled. Economist isn’t a skilled job because you can’t predict the future, it’s a self fullfilling prophecy when you apply your own perceptions into descision making. Not everything is a predictable pattern.
We didn’t make a distinction in english until about ten? years ago. Most people used the terms interchangeably. That’s part of why people got so pissed off about the whole thing. Suddenly they were being screamed at by a militant tumbler user for using the wrong word when they were using it that way their whole life.
In pshych 101 they teach that sex and gender are two different things.
Just have my phone set to syncthimg between a second drive on my pc and the home folder on the pc rsync to the same drive. I need an external provider to back that up.
I always bootstrap business ideas without spending any or little money to start. Making a small thing on github that says “managed service, please contact for pricing” channel that through a virtual assistant to weed out the time wasters. If you get a lot of demand, then you scale up and flesh out complete automation.
You could always outsource and automate the basic troubleshooting aspects. Running updates accross multiple customers would be a breeze. I beleive I’ve seen one managed services company that will set up an instance and manage it for around $20/mo.
More like mv a/somedirectory/andanother/thenonemore/longfilenameislong b/another_directory/directory2/stillmore2goanddontmisspellanything
Sometimes you just want to move a file from folder to another.
I guess I wasn’t thinking about how much work it would actually be in order to enforce it. I doubt I could afford the cost. Maybe if it was coupled with a managed services type of deal and you had enough subsrcibers it could be enough to hire another staff member? It seems like adding “premium” features could alieanate the userbase unless it’s just cosmetic changes. I put my foot in my mouth bringing it up, sorry.
