WiVRn already has foveated support. They’re in crunch time right now getting the Frame to work via WiVRn

So they used their hypervisor to clean wall reverse engineer how the apple gpu driver/firmware works, and then built their own half of the implementation. Yeah, it uses Claude for a lot of the rote work, but the fact that it even got done is impressive. They’re looking for people that can do code review/test/revisions now, to make sure the driver is solid and can be upstreamed. Also it’s a Rust driver.

I Expect You to Die, the game series. Funny room escape secret agent story game series. Does a great job of utilizing VR controls and room layout without requiring you to leave your seat. Also has an interesting story to it.

WiVRn works in Fedora (over flatpak even!) since March this year, and performs better than SteamVR and possibly even Virtual Desktop - on a Quest 2. WayVR provides desktop portal and playspace dragging. Very recent update makes the interface look good and also provides USB Ethernet support for Android headsets (Quest etc.) if you prefer wired

TLDR: Sometimes games lag because the cpu wants to sleep between each frame. AMD patch adds a per-core cpu performance profile, which lets games run on their cpu core(s) at full speed (no mid-frame sleeps) without setting the whole cpu into a battery-sucking performence mode.

3: Neighbor discovery, prefix delegation, and routing efficiency, which reduces the overhead at the ISP level (less giant router lookup tables is more better for everyone) and lets you subnet your own network without needing to do port forwards

4: Privacy extensions allow computers to use temporary v6 addresses when connecting, that prevent reverse engineering the device hardware address from the ipv6 address

5: link-local address, a private, non-routable ipv6 address every device with ipv6 gets without needing a router, lets you network ipv6 devices on a lan without having to force static addresses or play the dhcp guessing game (see: printers)

7: ipv6 devices have multiple ipv6 addresses on one itnerface (link local, global, global privacy extension, any more you want have at it)

I only keep one example of stuff that works for specific devices. Ubuntu 14.04+mac for early Macintels, Linux Mint Debian 32-bit for systems that can’t do 64, evrrything else, latest Mint Debian or Fedora KDE.
