I have a perpetual mixtape running in my head. It’s literally impossible to stop. I know I’m in the depths of depression when the music stops, and I’m climbing back out when it comes back.

Huh, that’s an interesting one. I’m glad I’m not the only one hearing something weird.
Haha! I’m so sorry. Plz don’t hurt me lol Also, you gotta let me know what you hear when you get around to it! I’m very curious.
I have tried to hear that instead of “Hot pickle!” for years and I just can’t. This feels like another of of those blue dress/yanni things to me.
I heard “Hot pickle!” in a completely unrecognizable accent and have been confused ever since. Was it Mario that said that? Lakitu? Whose voice is that if not Mario’s and if it is Mario… What the hell? Lol
He says it when you select a level to play.
Welcome! I’ve been on Nobara KDE for two years, exclusively for one, and I too recently purged all trace of Windows from my nvme drive and repurposed it for games.
Feels real good.

I don’t disagree with you, but they’re stepping in the right direction, at least. That’s worth something these days.
Maaaaaybe when Windows wasn’t actually disrespectful to its user base but now that they’ve gone full “we know what’s best for you” and are actively ruining their OS and fucking with their users to push garbage tier AI shit no one wants… Yeah, miss me with this shit man.
Linux respects the autonomy of its users and for that reason alone it has gained me as a user.
I do think Linus should be held to a higher standard than the average joe, but yeah. IMO he should have done his due diligence to do things right. It was just very low effort for a guy whose professional life revolves around tech.
Some people go way too far with lambasting him though.
What’s notable though is Linus’ experience is likely to be very typical of an average non-technical Windows user’s experience when it comes to dealing with problems.
To seemingly lose the ability to read when an error occurs and then just try and slam it through regardless instead of pumping the brakes and asking for help is all too common.
I think most people don’t. I live in a small house with my wife, no kids, and even that gets overwhelming somehow. Some days are just lost to work, cleaning, and maintenance.
We do aim to have at least a couple of days a week where we don’t have to do anything at all. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t. When it doesn’t, it doesnt take long for burnout to set in.
That’s fair. I guess its a lesser of two evils situation. No unlimited internet? Need to buy storage. No storage (OP’s situation) let Steam handle it.
Don’t back up your games. Steam Cloud saves are a thing and if your games drive shits the bed you can just buy a new one and re-download all your games.

You just need to adjust what you’re focusing on. The outdoors can be stimulating if you know where to look and relaxing if you know what to ignore.
Combine fishing with birdwatching. It’s a match made in heaven.

When I run out of stuff to see on Lemmy, I touch grass. Simple as.
I feel way more in control of my online experience when endless scrolling isn’t possible.
Exactly. I have a daily, weekly and monthly backup that erases the previous version.
Linux is in no shape for a non tech literate person just to jump into.
The tech illiterate are not typically the ones complaining about Microsoft; they mostly have zero clue about what’s going on. Stop choosing perfection as the threshold for usability.

Thorium had the furry porn. I use it for work as I need a Chromium browser for compatibility. Librewolf for everything else.
I leave the bags in the car and bag the groceries once I get back to the car. The only exception is in winter if its freezing out.
