Catppuccin Mauve my beloved.

CachyOS’s Niri install came pretty barebones, so it took a lot of configuring and troubleshooting, especially since it’s my first time using something other than GNOME/KDE. But I’m really happy with how it turned out! The scrolling tiling behavior is really cool, and I love using workspaces. I’ve even come to appreciate window tabbing. Being able to apply transparency to any window is so fun.

Not sure what other details are needed that aren’t present in the screenshot. Let me know if you want to know anything!

I just installed Niri to replace Hyprland since they went fash recently. Got waybar and swaybg to work, and greeter works fine, but since I learned about Noctalia from this post just now, I think I’m switching to that ecosystem.

Btw, does anyone know of where to find the file to configure color themes for Nautilus on Arch? I checked .config and .local/share already.

I thought Nautilus just follows whatever your GTK theme is? I’m not super knowledgable though. Noctalia has a “Templates” section in their settings that lets you choose to match certain applications to your noctalia theme, which is what I’ve used to get nautilus to these colors.

I recognize Nautilus. What is the editor?

Also, are you running it with Gnome underpinnings or are we raw-dogging Niri?

Kate! I also mention it in the alt text for the image.

I pretty much just fresh installed CachyOS, choosing Niri on install. I’ve installed a few Gnome apps like their disk manager, but this is full-on Niri (as far as my knowledge goes— which isn’t very far tbf)
