I got the ZBT-2 and there is very little setup or instruction involved.

Plugged in its one and only cable to my pi5. It installed open border thread integration and matter integration.

It flashes blue seemingly at random.

I cannot get any of the IKEA Myggbett, Bilresa or whatever the sockets are called to connect.

I am sat at my ZBT-2, connected to Pi via USB C. Pi is on LAN. I am on wifi.

I get one of two failures

1 unable to connect, check device, reset, check pairing mode etc.

2 setup requires an open border thread controller and then I check and the integration is bugging out.

Please tell me where I am being an idiot

Fun, I just went through this with a Bilresa remote.

IPv6 needs to be enabled on your HA server, I ran this command though I’m not entirely sure if that was required: ha docker options --enable-ipv6=true

But what really seemed to do the trick for me was, on my phone, going to Settings > Companion App > Troubleshooting (almost near the bottom) > Sync Thread Credentials.

    Why there? Good question!
Why not the “Send thread credentials to Home Assistant” button at the actual Thread configuration? Equally good question!

This was with the Home Assistant Green and ZBT-2, mind you. I would’ve expected there to be some level of “out of the box” integration. Oh well.

Can you share your bilresa sensors? I cannot figure out how to reliably cycle through all none based on two buttons

I used this blueprint, it allows you to use the buttons for turning on and off, hold to increase/decrease brightness, double tap for full or minimum brightness.
Getting the brightness to smoothly change upon holding the button was impossible for me to figure out on my own, this blueprint really saved me in that regard.

The double tap changes colour temperature when you use the button connected directly to the lamp, which this blueprint unfortunately does not replicate for HA. I have yet to summon the courage to really go through the yaml and see if I can figure as much out for myself.

This helped. It didnt fix it but it got me beyond “connecting to device” I was able to see the router and make it the preferredwithout drops. I slected sync credentials and it said I have none, I hit the three dots in the router integratiom and said use for “android and ios credentials” but it was your paththe syncing that allowed it for the first time move to “checking connectivity to thread network”

My ISP router seems to have ipv6 locked away so I cant check my status for mDNS or anything though the host can see ipv6 addresses.

So I guess new router time.
