Also, do the posts show up as more than two posts in one community? Or is this a thing where you saw six of the same post across your feed because it was showing multiple communities? I’m honestly curious because I can understand why that would appear spammy.
I don’t want to be a spammer because a song I worked on with my good friends that we then spent money to complete and then film a whole music video for got 20 down votes overnight because people were annoyed, so I really do appreciate the feedback when it’s constructive.
So I guess, making multiple posts in different communities is not the same as cross posting? Like, if I use the actual cross post option, would it actually appear differently in the feed? Or would it basically be the same?

2-3 post one after another in multiple communities, a bunch of other stuff and 2-3 post again.
There’s a cross post feature that you could use, also there’s a Music instance and a self promotion one somewhere.

Not a specialist but I think that if you use the cross post feature of Lemmy it will only post it once on someone feed. Again I’m not sure
