Meta has sold 7M+ Ray-Ban glasses that look identical to normal glasses but can record you silently.

NoPeek detects them using immutable BLE manufacturer company IDs - signals that cannot be randomized or hidden unlike MAC addresses.

Detects: Meta Ray-Ban, Snap Spectacles, Oakley Meta, TCL RayNeo, Meta Quest, Apple Vision Pro, Pico VR and more.

If it ran in the background and notified me whenever one was detected it would be great.

    Edit: looks like it does

Yes it does! 🎉 Here’s how it works:

Tap “Run in background” button in the app. You’ll see a persistent notification saying “VR Shield — Background Scan”.

If a smart glass or VR headset is detected you’ll get:

      • Vibration alert
      • Sound alarm
      • Push notification with vendor name and distance

Tap the notification to open the app and see full details.

To stop: tap “Stop background” in the app or tap Stop in the notification.
