While the bill passed both houses of the Maine’s legislature on April 14, and Mills has suggested she’d support a temporary moratorium, the governor wanted a bill that would exempt an existing data center project in Jay, Maine.
I mean, as much as “Fuck A.I data centers” as a rule bringing existing multi-multi million dollar projects to a grinding halt after you already granted approval could expose the state to damages lawsuits. If I had millions into an approved project I wouldnt just eat the loss either.
