At this point, if I ever need to buy a new tv, I’m looking for a dumb one, that just displays images from a source, and that’s it. Maybe I won’t even get a tv, but just use a large monitor attached to a raspberry pi or a tv box or similar.

There has got to be some kind of collusion going on to try and lock us into only approved software. They want to make it so the only source of content is something we must pay up for. I can’t comprehend this push for a walled garden when places like the EU are explicitly banning this anti-competitive behavior.

Google’s plans to remove sideloading from android are similarly anti-competitive.

Mandating secureboot to play games like Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty 2025 is similarly moronic. It’s not going to stop cheating.

It might be collusion, it might also be management seeing it happen in places and go, yeah, let’s get some of that.

It’s not like there’s any antitrust protection anymore, so everybody’s just going to do whatever the fuck they want.

We’re gonna pump that gas all the way to Idiocracy

I just hope I live long enough to watch them tear it all down and rip those companies apart.
