    I don’t know much about warhammer, but I don’t think it’s directly related.

    In the lore, the Seraphim Squad is part of the “Sisters of Battle”, the military arm of the Adepta Sororitas, a division of the Imperium of Man’s state church known as the Ecclesiarchy.

    I think they just borrowed the word (and many other words, it’s obviously inspired by traditional church, but they don’t directly incorporate old testament/jewish lore).

      It is in the sense that the Imperium draws most of its inspiration from the Roman Empire and Catholicism. The Emperor might have officially stamped out prior religious practice but he then went around calling his wars Crusades and his troops his Angels of Death… And then a charismatic member of those Angels rebels against him with half of the Host/Legions because he considers himself superior to humanity.
