Thanks for the compliment. You’re right—the thumbnail really does look like a piece of browned toast. It reminds me of another piece of toast I had for breakfast. I had almost finished eating it when I realized, “That looks just like a…” So I cut out the triangle at the bottom, and voilà… 😉.

Oh, wow. She can do a human archery bow 😉. Nice work. I like the calm pastell tones.

That is a tough challenge. I like your images and am always impressed by your approach to them. With the water droplets, I noticed that—despite the light reflections—they still distort the background behind them. Just like a lens does. The closer the droplet is to the viewer, the more clearly this effect is visible. Out of curiosity, I took photos of droplets on my plants for comparison. In your shots, the reflections seem a bit too flat (?)—they don’t seem to distort the background behind them. But that’s really just nitpicking at a high level. At the same time, it helps to simply talk about it. 🙂

Thank you, yesterday it was hot and I have actually vacation from work, so I grabbed all together and spend the day at the lakeside.

No, it’s really just a quick sketch for an idea. I don’t know if I want to do anything more with it.
Thank you! I don’t know if it’s canonical. I just wanted to try my hand at the motif 🙂.
Everything’s fine, I just wasn’t sure if the frog itself had any particular meaning. The paper itself doesn’t have any special tint. I took the picture at my kitchen table. It’s probably just the light above the table that makes it appear slightly yellower when photographed.
Bold of you to assume I’m human and not three Hobbits in a trench coat.
And yet, here you are, captured in black and white! 🙃

That’s a great compliment from you. I love your work and to be honest, your works were also the impetus for me to try my hand at charcoal.

Certainly. The first time I saw water-soluble graphite was with Lyra pencils. They come in various grades—2B, 4B, 6B, and 9B. I believe they were originally used in trades, particularly in woodworking shops. Just try searching for “Lyra water-soluble graphite.”
Viarco—a Portuguese manufacturer, as far as I know—has launched a whole line of water-soluble graphite products. They are also available as pencils, for instance from Faber-Castell, and even come in tinted versions. Derwent’s line is called “Graphitint.” They are also available in small paint sets with half-pans, similar to watercolor sets.
You can usually find these products on popular online marketplaces or—even better—at your trusted local art supply store. With plain, untinted water-soluble graphite, the material’s characteristic sparkle is most visible on dry paper when applied in thicker layers. While fixing the work once you are satisfied is certainly recommended, it is not as essential as it is with traditional graphite techniques. It takes a little getting used to at first, but on the whole, it handles much like watercolor.
There are also plenty of videos on YouTube and similar sites if you search for water-soluble graphite.
