I find the rack itself never the problem. You can get them super cheap… But single (ATX) cases are completely out of proportion. Does somebody has a good idea to mount a micro ATX motherboard and a couple 2.5" drives (external PSU)?
Seems pretty good. I recently 3d printed a little 10in mini rack for myself, but I went with Chris Borge’s Rackfinity. I feel like the threaded rods give it plenty of strength, which makes me a lot more comfortable hanging my hardware in the rack.
Wonder what the weight rating is on these. Some UPS can get pretty heavy.
There are few if any 10” UPS units available anyway so weight is less of a worry. It’s one of the biggest weaknesses of the 10” system currently.
What about NAS systems? I don’t recall seeing any for 10" before
There are 4 bay units that would fit on a 10” inch shelf. I’ve seen some DIY projects too.
Using SFF/mini PCs is also popular, there are models that can take multiple SATA/NVMe drives
Ah fair point
These little mini-racks are cool. I’ve seen a lot of them here of late.
Seems like a cool idea but I feel like if you’re buying rack hardware you should be able/willing to buy a metal frame to house your stuff in.
Nothings stopping you from doing that.
Indeed. I have done so.
